urgent: ignoring = regret
it's time to demand what you deserve.
Hey bro,
I was watching the movie "Jerry Maguire" for the first time last night. (I know, right?)
I am actually SUPER surprised I didn't watch it earlier because it's a total classic.
I guess I am a bit stubborn. (LOL)
But the reason why I bring it up is because there is a scene that cut straight to the bone for me.
For those who haven't seen the movie, it's about an arrogant sports agent who gets fired and loses his clients.
Obviously, he gets through this by changing his ways. (cute I know.)
His last client is an under-payed football player who wants a better NFL contract.
They are all in Jerry's "office" (which is in his living room because he can't afford an office.)
When they get a fax.
It's from the owner of the football team.
They low-balled the contract.
Again.
This causes chaos in Jerry's living room and some words are exchanged.
The player breaks down and cries. He doesn't know what to do.
His wife gets on his level, looks him in the eye, and says "Never forget this baby: we define our own worth."
Boom.
And this goes for everything.
Do you want a raise at your job? you need to feel like you're WORTH it to even have the idea, never mind ask for it.
Do you want a beautiful girlfriend? when you look in the mirror, is that man worthy?
People simply pay the price you put on yourself.
In life, you don't get what you deserve.
You get what you FIGHT for.
And nothing can start a fire inside,
Like feeling cheated.
So set your prices high, and never compensate.
