stand out from the crowd

Hey bro,

I'm gonna spit some game on marketing.

To be honest,

I wish I learned this WAY earlier.

I use to work in sales, which is a HUGE part of life.

But marketing is a whole different beast.

So let's get into it.

Marketing = attraction.

Your goal is to attract the right people by showing them things they like.

Confusing right?

But the easiest way to look at it is to look at girls. (and who doesn't love doing that?)

What do girls love?

Fashion.

They spend HOURS on their hair, clothes, and presentation.

They do this because men are highly visual. And a body fit with the right fashion will get them the guy they want.

If you have ever been outside, you'll see that fashion can make a 6 look like a 9.

This is "perceived value"

Essentially it's value created ONLY in the mind of the viewer.

An iPhone may cost $10 to make and distribute (not actual numbers)

But the MARKETING is where the magic happens.

The lights, the sexy commercial, the famous person using it. THAT'S where they get you.

If you're starting a business or wanna get laid ever again, you need a high perceived value.

People take shortcuts.

If something LOOKS valuable, it probably is.

So get a good haircut, decent clothes, and stand up straight, and you can create magic in the mind of others.

Maybe that's a client, maybe that's a girlfriend.

So every time you think "What does marketing even mean?"

Think apple.

Because they can take pennies' worth of plastic,

And sell it for a 10,000% markup (also not actual numbers)

But you get the point.
