the anxiety cure
how to escape the noise and change your life
Hey bro,
It's tough out there isn’t it?
They say the average person these days interacts with a bajillion marketing messages a day. (Ok maybe not that many but you get my point)
Because of this over stimulation in our environment, our brain tunes out 90% of all of these messages. Because if you didn’t you wouldn’t have time to do literally anything else.
But another downside to this media-saturated culture is that people NEED to be stimulated by something constantly.
They always have their phone in their hand, Airpods in their ears, and attention spans as short as humanly possible.
Now I am no exception to this, I love a good dopamine hit just as much as the next guy,
But if you want to improve your life, you need to become more PRESENT.
The easiest way you can do this is by taking a 30-minute walk (or less) with no phone, no music, or no distractions.
Seriously,
Leave your phone at home for 30 minutes. (I know right.)
This allows you to interrupt your constant stream of thinking for a while and focus on your actual environment.
90% of the things we worry about are completely imaginary.
How many times have you won an imaginary argument with someone while you were taking a shower?
Exactly.
When you don’t have a phone to keep you busy, it forces you to focus on sights, sounds, and sensations that are ACTUALLY happening,
Not mental movies that are most likely triggered by social media companies.
Try this out today,
And let me know how it goes.
